Dear Church,

I have been so upset for the past couple months by the thought of a church asleep while the people they say they love are damned to Hell. Lately, I have become so excited by what I see happening lately, that I sense the need to write you to explaining the reasons behind the current sermon series and describing how I see the immediate future of our church.

People have responded with a variety of differing opinions over the past two months. Most have been overwhelmingly positively, but not all. The messages began with the Lord’s “axe is at the root” and has continued through last Sunday’s message about Joel Chapter 2’s immanent fulfillment and 5 Blessings God has for us. Of course that is if we are obedient and turn to Him with our whole heart. Listening to these opinions mixed with the satanic attacks with everything from finances to health, has given me doubt about whether our church would ever wake up or would just become a proverbial joke(Joel 2:17). But now God has been pouring faith into me and I’m convinced you will wake and you’ll receive 1. God’s pity, 2. Answered prayer, 3. Defeat of the enemy, 4. Return of everything taken, and 5. Revival! God has just answered a prayer of mine for healing of this cyst that has been parked on my forehead for the past 4 years. I’ll tell you the unusual story this next Sunday. Suffice it to say, I’ve received renewed faith. So let me explain the preaching that has occurred of late.

Some might ask, “Pastor, why are you preaching in a way that might upset people and cause them to react with unfaithfulness?” My answer is threefold. First, because I am absolutely compelled by God’s Spirit to preach this NOW! This IS what the Spirit is saying for those who have ears to hear. This message is all over Africa, Asia, and South America where revival is soaring. It is only in Europe and America where the church is laughing at the message of repentance. Secondly, I am absolutely compelled to preach this because of God’s Holy Word! This kind of preaching is throughout the Bible. All the prophets and apostles and even Jesus preached this way. If people get upset and act sinfully, it isn’t caused by the preaching - it’s just brought to the surface by the message. Jesus’ preaching caused people to leave at times, folks! Lastly, I am held accountable for what I preach. I am a “watchman on the wall” and if I don’t sound the alarm, the blood of everyone in the church will be on my hands. I don’t care if I’m ever famous, rich or influential because I preach - all I want is to hear the words, “Well, done good and faithful servant!” That’s why I will continue to preach this way.

Last Sunday, God called us to a Solemn Assembly. In response we began a 40 day fast that day - June 27. It is to be a fast primarily of food* and will continue thru August 5. It will end with an Oasis 24/3 prayer meeting(6pm Aug. 2 thru 6pm on Aug. 5). There will also be 5 Saturday Prayer Meetings in the 40 days that will be held from 9am to 9pm. Each of the meetings on Saturdays, Sundays & Oasis, along with the fast, will constitute the 40 Day Solemn Assembly. I can’t stress strongly enough how important gathering for these times will be! “He who puts his hand to the plow and then looks back is not worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven.” I beg you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to please consider joining in responding to the call to Solemn Assembly and fasting for the sake of those you love.

* Fast either one meal a day or one whole day a week unless your Dr. says otherwise - then the Doctor’s orders supersede a food fast and you need to fast something else; such as entertainment, etc
